The Hydra was built around exactly that kind of day, giving you nine or more distinct configurations so your leash keeps up with however the trail actually unfolds.
Endlessly adaptable: The Hydra runs as a classic leash, waist leash, cross-body leash, coupler, slip leash, dual connection, half-length leash, quick tie, or adjustable-length leash, and adapts to plenty of uses beyond those. That range is what makes it a genuinely convertible dog leash rather than a single-purpose piece you swap out between activities.
BioThane® construction: The entire leash is built from BioThane®, which holds up to water, mud, and repeated use without softening, stiffening, or absorbing what the trail throws at it. A BioThane® hands free leash stays predictable to handle whether you finish a run soaked or dry.
Lobster Clip and dual D-ring hardware: A Lobster Clip (Talon) sits at the working end, with D-rings on both ends of the leash giving you attachment options at either terminus. Hardware configurations are available to meet specific preferences.
Two BioThane® loops with integrated O-rings: These built-in attachment points are what make the multi-configuration dog leash system actually work, letting you shift between setups without carrying extra hardware or adapters on the trail.
- If you plan to use as a waist leash, measure the circumference of your waist and then add the length of leash you want after that.
- If using as a coupler, the length will be divided in half once two dog are connected.

Just received our Hydra hands free leash and LOVE it. I like the length, when used a regular leash, for a bit of extra freedom compared to a standard 6′ leash. At 5’9″ with a 100lb large dog, it is long enough to use cross body and have slack for my dog to move around. The biothane helps keeps the leash in place when placed around the waist. We will be getting a lot of use out of this one!

Received our Hydra leash and we love it! It is more lightweight than other biothane leashes we’ve tried without compromising the strength of a biothane leash. It is so easy to adjust, so you can make it a hands-free or a normal leash in seconds. We’ve used it almost everyday since we got it. Would highly recommend!

We have been using the hydra leash for a few months now. It’s great when we’ve been shopping with our pup. The option to add a traffic handle allows us the ability to keep him close when needed. Love being able to change from cross body to waist or any other way so quickly. We walk everyday no matter the weather. Having a leash that dries so fast allows us to practice training in the house without wearing a wet, dirty leash. Cleaning the leash after a romp in the mud is a breeze. It’s comfortable to wear. The hardest part was trying to decide on the color. They are all gorgeous! I had a lot of questions about sizing, traffic handles, and hardware.
