Measuring your buckle-style collar correctly is crucial when switching to a quick release collar. Follow this guide to ensure your new quick release collar fits your dog comfortably.
Tools You’ll Need:
- Measuring Tape: For accurate and reliable measurements.
- Pen and Paper: To note down your measurements.
- Flat Table: Use a flat, stable surface to lay out your collar for precise measurement.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Set Up Your Workspace:
– Choose a flat table to work on, ensuring your collar lays flat without any twists or bends.
2. Position the Collar:
– Lay your buckle-style collar flat on the table. Extend it fully, making sure it’s straight and untwisted.
3. Identify the Measurement Points:
– Find the inside of the buckle—this is where you’ll start your measurement.
– Locate the hole you regularly use when fastening the collar—this is where your measurement will end.
4. Take the Measurement:
– Using a measuring tape, measure from the inside of the buckle to the hole you use most frequently.
– Keep the measuring tape flat and next to the collar.
5. Record and send a photo of your measurement :
– Write down the exact measurement. This is the starting point for determining the size of your collar. Please send a photo of your measurement to us so we can verify it on our end. Photos can be sent to gear@mysticaltails.com.
6. Consider In-Between Sizes:
– If you find yourself wishing there was an in-between size, measure the distance to that point as well.
By following these steps, you can ensure that your new collar will fit comfortably, providing both security and comfort for your dog.
Accurate measurements make all the difference!
