At Mystical Tails, we’re constantly striving to improve our products, not just to meet your expectations but to exceed them. After extensive testing and feedback, we’re excited to announce a significant upgrade in our hardware: transitioning to marine grade 316 stainless steel. This change aims to enhance durability and maintain the sleek appearance of our dog collars and leashes.
Why Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel?
While our previous hardware served well with its lightweight and rust-resistant properties, we noticed its coating could chip over time, leading to some surface rust. This was not up to the standards we set for ourselves and certainly not what our beloved customers deserve.
Enter 316 stainless steel. Unlike the more commonly used 304 stainless, the 316 grade boasts superior corrosion resistance and durability, which is why it’s preferred in marine environments. Its higher resistance to harsh conditions and stunning natural glow make it an ideal choice for our products.
Custom-Designed for Aesthetics and Endurance
Many of you expressed a preference for hardware that is not only durable but also visually appealing. We listened. Our new hardware features an exclusive custom-designed, scratch and chip-resistant coating available in stylish black and elegant gold. This special coating ensures longevity and maintains the hardware’s aesthetic appeal without the risk of staining or patina that other materials like brass can cause.
Beyond the Surface
The true beauty of this upgrade isn’t just skin deep. The robust base of marine grade 316 stainless steel ensures that even if the coating were ever compromised, the integrity of the hardware remains unharmed. You’d have to really go out of your way, intentionally scratching it with a sharp object, to penetrate this tough exterior coating.
Our Commitment to Quality
Except for a few select pieces like the arcane buckles, cobra buckles and the claw (claw will soon have the stainless option) , the bulk of our hardware are made from 316 stainless steel. This shift not only aligns with our commitment to quality but also our playful acknowledgment that since our dogs are practically marine animals, their gear should be too!
We are thrilled to roll out this upgrade and are confident that it will make your Mystical Tails products even more reliable for all your adventures. Thank you for trusting us with the gear that helps you and your furry friends explore the world together.
